The Independent General Practice is a Private GP service which offers professional patient care, treatment & advice to individuals, families and businesses. This service is very similar to the kind of service that you would find with your own NHS GP, but with a few notable differences.
In treating an illness or condition, time is one of the most important factors. The more time that is wasted waiting, the longer the illness has to develop or the longer you are left suffering with the condition. To many, time is also money, which you may be losing money by being away from your place of work as a result of visiting your NHS GP. You may also be forced to visit your GP, at a specific surgery, at a specific time and then you are still often left waiting.
The IGP gives you the time, flexibility and choice back.
We can offer appointments at times that are convenient to you and we aim to see patients on the day that the enquiry is made. We also have evening surgeries for those who require appointments outside of standard work hours. You and your family will then have more time with the doctor, as appointments are at least 20 minutes. However, more time can be made available with the Doctor if you require. Due to our special relationships with consultants & specialists, we can, if need be, arrange referrals or further diagnostic screenings significantly faster than you would expect on the NHS; usually within just a few days.
The IGP gives you the choice of gaining a second opinion from an Independent Doctor and offers a greater level of privacy and discretion by allowing you the choice of whether you want to see a male or female GP. Although The IGP and the NHS are separate, we work closely together and share the belief that Patient’s Health and wellbeing is paramount. Consultations with a Private GP can be as confidential or collaborator with your NHS practice as you require. So you can be rest assured that you will not be harming the relationship between you and your current NHS GP.
The IGP are also able to administer treatments that are not available on the NHS. For instance, child vaccines like Single Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) and Gardasil; the Cervical Cancer Vaccine which gives greater protection against the HPV Virus & Warts that may lead to cancer in women. Other treatments include Physiotherapy, Minor Surgery, Anti-Wrinkle injections, Flu & Travel Vaccines and Occupational Health services for businesses.
All medical treatments are administered by GMC registered Doctors and The IGP was the first Private GP service to be registered with the HIW (Health Inspectorate for Wales); the government body responsible for monitoring the standards of private medical practices in Wales.

You do not need to be registered with us to be seen by our doctors.
