Medicals / Health Screens


Standard & Occupational Health Medicals

The Independent General Practice provides a range of medical appointments to suit your requirements. Standard Medicals usually cost between £90 and £150 (additional pathology or urine tests not included) and last around 40 minutes. Appointments are available from all of our surgeries in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, and Bristol. Appointments are available to all and we also provide an Occupational Health service to businesses who need pre-employment, executive and employment medicals. Full Private Medicals

The IGP offer Medical/screening checks for all age groups. The full medical consists of 2 separate appointments:

 Appointment 1

Appointment 1, lasts 45 minutes, the doctor will take a full history from you, examine you thoroughly, and discuss with you which tests are appropriate for you, bearing in mind your age, your health background, family background, personal concerns and your budget.

 Appointment 2

Then some 2 weeks later, the doctor will discuss with you her written report, which will include her assessment of your current and future health problems, and recommendations about changes which need to be made. You will take away both the written report and printed information leaflets which are relevant to your health.

 How Much?

The cost of the screening is fixed at £200.00 and includes both appointments and the report. The costs of any tests recommended are not included in this fee. We prefer this approach, as we treat each patient as an individual and will only recommend the tests we feel are appropriate in each case.

The IGP also undertake routine medical examinations for: Life assurance, Employment, LGV/PSV/HGV/Diving.

These medicals usually last for around 40 minutes.
