Anti-Wrinkle Injections

As we go through life it is inevitable that fine lines and folds will develop as the skin starts to weaken and the structure of the skin begins to break down. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to significantly improve the appearance of the skin and face by reducing the lines and wrinkles associated with signs of ageing.

Anti-wrinkle Injections work either by reducing the muscle activity in problematic areas or by reintroducing lost collagen.

Botox Injections

The ageing process causes the slow down of collagen and elastin production in the skin. As we get older certain areas of over-use (such as around the eyes and mouth) become damaged and the lines become more permanent. Botox (Botulinum Type A) has been found to counteract this affect by reducing movement of muscles in these areas. Botox can be used in very small doses to immobilise select muscles of the face and help prevent the onset of lines and wrinkles. They can be used around the eyes, forehead and mouth.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox is injected directly into problematic areas and works by stopping the skin being creased, allowing it to recover. This subsequently causes facial lines to soften or even fade away. On average Botox lasts around four to six months. After further injections, the skin is able to regenerate the collagen needed to fill facial lines and wrinkles. However, first time patients can expect the effects of the treatment to wear off faster.

How Long Does Botox Take?

The procedure generally only takes a few minutes, which allows patients to schedule appointments during their lunch hour. Most people only experience a mild temporary discomfort. The sensation is often compared to the sting of an ant bite and usually lasts only a few seconds. There is a slight redness immediately after which settles within a few hours and application of ice helps and is easily covered with make-up. There is virtually no recovery period after our treatments, and most patients are able to return to their normal routine immediately. Within 4 hours of the treatment people are advised not to do vigorous exercise, drink excessive alcohol or lie down flat. Otherwise, life can carry on as normal.

What Else Can Botox Be Used For?

Botox can also be used to treat excessive sweating, migraines, muscular disorders, and some bladder and bowel disorders.

Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating can effect people of all ages. Our Private Doctors can effectively treat patients who experience underarm sweating, but also excesssive palm or foot sweat.

Profhilo

Profhilo is the first, non-synthetically stabilised, injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market, it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.

Profhilo, initially appears to work like other collagen fillers. However, unlike fillers, Profhilo flows and distributes itself, integrating with the tissue, rather than being placed by an injection.

Profhilo is being described as one of the most exciting development in injectable treatments in a long time asProfhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer.

How Does Profhilo Work?

As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement.

Despite its high HA content, it has a low inflammatory profile coupled with pro-healing properties backed by clinical studies.

From a safety perspective, Profhilo is highly biocompatible, owing to the fact that it is made from natural hyaluronic acid and stabilised without the addition of chemical cross-linking agents.

How Long Does Profhilo Take To Work?

Overall, you can expect increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of skin, with the effects lasting up to six months or longer. A treatment with Profhilo is two sessions spaced approximately 4 weeks apart.

Lip Shaping

Collagen Fillers can be used to reduce lines and wrinkles, but also subtly reshape the features of the face including lips, cheeks and chin. A full make over using a range of these treatments is know as a non-surgical face-lift. Although lip shapes are as individual as the person, it could be said that there is a certain standard set that dictates perfect lip shape. Lip shapes can alter due to a number of different factors including genetics, aging or smoking. We can help restore and enhance your lips in a subtly natural but noticable way.
