The Independent General Practice (IGP) is a company that provides private GP services, occupational health, physiotherapy, medico-legal appointments, cosmetic treatments and vaccinations to individuals, families & companies.
IGP services enable you and your family to get the right advice when needed through independent opinion and if necessary specialist referral. Patients of IGP have direct access to the very best in private healthcare services and we pride ourselves on offering outstanding patient care from the moment an enquiry is made, until a solution is found.
No, you do not need to be registered with us to be seen by our doctors. However, through our range of Patient Healthcare Plans, IGP offers greater flexibility.
Patients that have not registered will be required to make a payment on the day or before your appointment in full, either by credit/debit card or cash. If you are insured, you will need to check with your insurers to see whether or not it includes GP consultations. However, we will require payment on the day of your appointment. We will then provide you with a reciept or invoice which will allow you to claim the cost back if your policy allows.
Registered patients are able to spread the cost of the appointment across the year and enjoy reduced fees for consultations & treatments. We aim to see registered patients within 24 hours of their contacting us. Our surgery opening times vary across our surgeries, but our administration opening hours are between 08:30 - 17:00.Private Healthcare Plans
Yes, IGP is designed to complement your NHS service, not replace it. With the patient's consent we regularly update NHS GP's with relevant information about patient care. However, should a patient not wish us to share information with their NHS GP, we will respect those wishes.
We do not require your past NHS medical history for the appointment.
We can issue a private prescription and repeat prescription if a medication is clinically indicated. These do not qualify for the NHS fixed charge (or free) prescriptions.
